ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
German Chatterbox is an online language learning virtual chat application for beginning learners of German. It can be used as a course supplement or on its own. Chat topics are focused on a range of personal and professional interests, including family and friends, hobbies, university study and job training. Chatting in German practices the learner's writing, reading and decision making skills in a natural environment where live native speakers are not available. The online chat conversations on this site foster the active review and creative use of grammatical form and syntax and also work as a vocabulary builder. All virtual chat partners feature supplementary worksheets (Arbeitsmaterialien). Learners can use the sheets to note down information from their chat conversation and complete a variety of communicative language tasks. The application works on the following internet browser: Google Chrome Mobile devices that have Google Chrome installed.
